A woman was critically ill in hospital yesterday following an accident outside council offices in Cornwall. Emergency services were called to Dolcoath Avenue in Camborne shortly before 5pm on Thursday. Police said a red Vauxhall Astra had been leaving the council car park when it collided with the woman. The pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, became trapped under the car and had to be released by firefighters. She was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital near Treliske, Truro, where she was said to be in a critical condition with multiple injuries.
