A police dog and handler tracked down and saved a man who had overdosed on sleeping pills in Redruth last week.
At around 8.30pm on September 14th police were called for a concern for welfare of the man who had gone missing.
He was believed to still be in the Illogan area and a local police unit managed to locate his bike at the local shop.
Police handler PC Tim Goodwin and police dog Buzz were dispatched to help aid the search and searched an open field, followed by a grave yard and a small wooded area.
Once in the woods Buzz quickly located the 45-year-old man in some undergrowth.
The man had taken a significant quantity of sleeping tablets and alcohol and was unable to move. The officer then stayed with the man until the ambulance arrived and took the man to Treliske for treatment.
