Cornwall Business Fair has announced that Terry Waite, CBE, will be the third key note speaker at this year's event. The former hostage negotiator will be attending the prestigious business fair on May 15 to speak about his experiences and draw parallels with everyday working situations.

Mr Waite was taken captive in 1987 for 1,763 days while negotiating for the release of Western hostages in Lebanon. Now a bestselling author and a patron for many charities across the UK, he will be speaking to attendees about how to deal with stress, loneliness and negotiating under acute pressure.

The fair will present a host of inspirational speakers to share their experiences and insights with the wider business community. Mr Waite will join other confirmed key notes, Jo Fairley, Co-founder of Green and Black's and Glastonbury Festival founder Michael Eavis.

On the announcement of Mr Waite's involvement Kim Conchie, chief executive of Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, said: "It is an honour to have such a outstanding member of community join us for such an integral event. The Cornwall Business Fair is showcasing the journeys and experiences of a plethora of inspirational speakers, and Terry is no exception to this. We are privileged that Terry will be passing on his knowledge on the day, supporting our growing Cornish Business Community."

Cornwall Business Fair will take place in The Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre on May 15 from 10am-4pm. Attendance to the event is free and open to all businesses in Cornwall.
