UPDATE: 12.05pm
The Truro store will be saved, a spokesman for HMV has confirmed.

The HMV press office confirmed the Truro store will be one of the 140 stores nationwide saved in a £50m deal.

The spokesman said that the Exeter and Plymouth stores are also on the list of stores that will survive.

HMV to stay?
The HMV store in Truro could be saved following the announcement of a sale of the company.
Hilco announced today it had bought HMV and secured the future of 2,500 jobs.
The future of the HMV store on Lemon Quay in Truro had been uncertain since the firm went into administration in January.
Hilco, which already owns HMV Canada, said it had acquired the business and certain assets of HMV, including 141 stores, 25 of which had been marked for closure by administrators Deloitte.
Paul McGowan, chief executive of Hilco, told the Daily Telegraph: "We have spent a number of weeks negotiating revised terms with landlords and the key suppliers to the business, all of whom have been supportive of our plans to maintain an entertainment retailer on the high street.
"We hope to replicate some of the success we have had in the Canadian market with the HMV Canada business which we acquired almost two years ago and which is now trading strongly."
It is hoped the consequences of the sale on the Truro store will be made clear over the coming weeks.
