A man was seriously assaulted outside the Spice of Life pub in Redruth.
Two men were sat on a bench outside the pub, near the Zone night club, when they were approached by a man who verbally abused them.
The victim stood up to challenge his abuser and was punched to the face several times, knocked to the floor and then kicked and stamped about the head and upper body.
He sustained serious facial injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which took place shortly after midnight on March 28.
The victim's attacker is described as a white male, aged in the mid twenties, approximately 6' to 6ft 2" tall, of athletic build, short, dark brown hair, and was wearing a short sleeved, white polo shirt and dark jeans.
