A Truro accountant is gearing up to take on a mammoth charity cycle ride from Land's End to John O'Groats, next month.
Ewan McClymont, who works at Bishop Fleming Accountants in Truro, will set off on the trip on Friday 17 May, cycling for ten days across the length of the United Kingdom from Cornwall to northern Scotland.
Mr McClymont will raise funds for Surf Action, a Cornwall-based charity that uses the calming nature of the sea to rehabilitate servicemen and women who suffer from combat stress.
Mr McClymont said: "Riding our bikes for almost 1,000 miles will be a challenge – but nothing compared to what our servicemen have had to confront.
"This is a huge personal challenge."
He will be joined on the ride by his friend, William Allen, of the King Harry Ferry Company in Feock, which has nominated Surf Action as their 2013 charity.
The cycling duo has set up online sites for sponsor donations. Visit www.justgiving.com/ewan-mcclymont or www.justgiving.com/william-allen1
