HEARTLANDS in Pool has smashed its annual visitor figures target for year one by almost 40,000 guests.
It has welcomed over 275,000 visitors just ahead of the 2013 Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
Malcolm Moyle, chairman of the Heartlands Trust said: "When the project was first approved, long before the current economic downturn, we were set a target of 235,000 visitors in our opening year of trading.
"We would have been delighted to have achieved that had the economy remained as buoyant as it seemingly was back then but to have hit 275,000 in our first 11 months of trading and in the current economic climate is just fantastic."
Vicky Martin, CEO of Heartlands, added: "It's great to be able to report such positive news.
"I would like to thank all those who have supported Heartlands by visiting and also my team who have worked tirelessly over the past year to bring Heartlands alive.
"We are looking forward to building on the success of our first year and bringing even more great events for our visitors to enjoy over the next 12 months."
