A MAN has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a road traffic collision in Launceston this afternoon.
Police and the fire service were called to A30 east bound at 1.05pm after a heavy good vehicle (HGV) hit the pedestrian.
A police spokesman said the pedestrian had been attending his broken vehicle when the collision with a white Renault HGV took place.
Two fire crews from Launceston and Callington removed the casualty trapped in the vehicle using crash rescue equipment.
The road was closed until 6pm to allow collision investigators to examine the scene and recover the vehicles.
