An armed man was arrested in Constantine last evening after a two hour stand off with police.
Police were called to Brillwater Road at 4.25pm to reports of a 33-year-old from Camborne inside a property with a knife.
A number of units, including the firearms unit, were called to the scene and at 6.25pm the man came to the door and was arrested.
A police spokesman said: "We had reports he had a knife and had self harmed and was in an agitated state.
"When he came to the door he was calm and compliant and was detained under the Mental Health Act."
They have refused to comment on whether anyone else was inside the property at the time.
