Hayle Runners have recently returned from the Edinburgh Marathon festival with 28 of the club's members having successfully completed the Festival Marathon and a further seven members completing the festival's half marathon.
There were some fantastic individual performances. The club saw one of its overseas runners Jane Khan finish in a fantastic third place overall in the Women's race in a time of 2 hours 43 minutes.
Simon Timms built upon his tremendous run at the London Marathon to be the first man home in three hours one minute.
Fiona Ruetsch finished in 3 hours 15 minutes and won a prize for being the 3rd woman aged 45-49 in the overall race.
Craig Tonkin Hayle Runners Club Captain felt it had been a great trip.
He said: "As a club we pride ourselves in helping people to complete marathons and half marathons.
"The Hayle Runners' trip to the Edinburgh marathon festival is now an annual event and is growing every year.
"Once again it has been brilliantly organised by Susan Chapman who enjoys encouraging the team to visit her home country.
"This year we actually had 12 runners completing their marathon debut at the event and I am sure we will be back again next year to do it again."
Hayle Runners have their training nights at Hayle Rugby Club (behind M+S) on Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm where runners of all abilities and speeds are supported by coaches and welcomed.
Beginners are particularly welcome at the Tuesday night session where they are supported by a team of dedicated coaches and qualified leaders.
Currently longer runs are also arranged on Sundays to help runners to prepare for half marathons at Indian Queens in August and at Truro in September. Structured coaching support will also restart at Carn Brea track every Thursdays starting at 7pm with a programme suitable for all abilities being supervised by Head Coach Simon Grose.More details are available on the club's website www.haylerunners.org.uk
