Flowers and messages have been left at Truro's war memorial in respect of the tragic death of soldier Lee Rigby.
Around a dozen bouquets of roses, carnations and other flowers have been laid at the foot of the memorial, which was erected in 1922 to honour fallen servicemen.
The Cornish TTy wrote: "R.I.P Drummer Lee Rigby. Our thoughts are with your family and friends. May your son grow up to be so proud of you. "
Any anonymous bouquet read: "RIP Drummer Rigby. Stand down soldier, your duty here is done. If we stand together in the face of adversity we can never be beaten. Safe journey my friend."
Lynn and Dax Shearer wrote: "To our hero Lee Rigby, you will always be remembered. Rest in peace."
