Police are appealing for information after paintings, worth £20, 000, were damaged during a break-in at an artist's studio near Callington.
Police say around 50 paintings were vandalised at a studio in St Anns Chapel, Gunnislake, on Monday June 17.
A representative from Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The Studio was entered by forcing a secure door and once inside the offender, or offenders, caused extensive damage to the Studio and to the artist's work."
"Approximately 50 abstract paintings valued at £20,000 were damaged, the majority of which were painted over with the artist's own paint."
During the incident significant paint damage was also caused to the property. Police believe that it is likely those responsible would have had paint on their clothing.
