A French fishing vessel had to be assisted by the St Mary's RNLI all-weather lifeboat after its pumped failed.
The five crew of the Panamera were standing in knee-deep water after their pump failed around 30 miles off the Isles of Scilly.
The St Mary's lifeboat was dispatched shortly after 8.40am taking just over an hour to reach the stricken vessel.
Falmouth Coastguard said lifeboat volunteers helped the crew rid the vessel of water.
The lifeboat returned at 12.48pm.
